Founding Vision:
Dr. Naresh M. Singhi established Apollo Endoscopy & Robotic Obesity Centre, Mumbai, in April 1997 with a focus on Obesity and Gastroenterology. Starting from the humble SINGHI Hospital in Goregaon, he aimed to expand and elevate the center. The Apollo Endoscopy & Robotic Obesity Centre was inaugurated with the blessings of his respected parents, Smt. ShakuntalaBen Singhi and Dr. Mishrilal Singhi, a renowned General Surgeon.
Robotic Surgery Expertise:
In 2010, Dr. Singhi advanced his skills in robotic surgery at a leading institution in Bangalore, India. This training equipped him to perform intricate and precise surgeries using the latest robotic systems, which are renowned for their minimal invasiveness and improved outcomes. Dr. Singhi has since become a leading expert in robotic-assisted procedures in Mumbai, enhancing patient care with innovative techniques. Apollo Endoscopy & Robotic Obesity Centre is now a premier destination for cutting-edge robotic surgery, specializing in complex obesity or weight loss treatments as well as robotic procedures for gallstones, hernias, acid reflux, and colon conditions.
Obesity Surgery Innovation:
In 2005, Dr. Singhi mastered Obesity Surgery techniques, including Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding and Bariatric Surgery, at UZ Ghent University in Belgium and Lyon-France. He was one of the first to introduce effective weight loss surgery in India and demonstrated that Bariatric Surgery could treat Type II Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension.
Laparoscopic Surgery Pioneering:
Dr. Singhi’s commitment to innovation began with advanced laparoscopic training under Prof. Hans Troidle in Cologne, Germany, and Prof. Med. G. Buess at Tubingen University. He furthered his expertise in Therapeutic GI Endoscopy and Laparoscopy with Dr. Raphael S. Chang at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, USA, and Prof. Antonio E. Robles at Loma Linda University, California, USA. Dr. Singhi was among the first in Mumbai to perform scarless (keyhole) Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, establishing himself as a leading laparoscopic surgeon in Western suburbs and Mumbai.
Giving Back to Society:
Inspired by his father, Dr. Mishrilal Singhi, who founded the Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital in Sumerpur-Pali, Rajasthan, in 1980, Dr. Naresh Singhi has carried on the legacy of service. His father treated the poor and underprivileged free of cost for 40 years. In 1999, Dr. Naresh Singhi continued this mission by providing free medical treatment to countless individuals in the same hospital.
Playing a Leadership Role:
Following in his father’s footsteps, who served as President for three consecutive years, Dr. Naresh Singhi now holds the position of Joint Secretary at Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital. He actively oversees its ongoing development and continues to contribute to its growth and success.
